Your life is a journey.
You have heard this before. You are probably comfortable with the notion.
In fact, your life is not one journey but many journeys.
There is one massive journey that we are all on. We were born. We will die one day. And, in between, we meander through life like the great rivers of the world – The Amazon, The Ganges, The Nile, The Yangtze.
We forget that we also take many hikes and detours and diversions and side trips.
Each of these is a journey in its own right. Call it a mini-journey.
You read this blog and that is a mini-journey. You go to a movie. That is another mini-journey.
You come back from work, grab some leftovers from the fridge and watch Desperate Housewives. That is a mini-journey.
It takes you to a realm where 40 something women are having affairs with nineteen something gardeners while desperately trying to hold on to their looks and fighting aging with manic intensity. And their husbands are fooling around with fashion models.
Notice how your entire life, each and every day of it, is filled with these mini-journeys.
Ask yourself, “Where is this journey taking me?”
And then ask yourself, “Do I want to go to that place? Do I want to spend time there?”
Do this for all the mini journeys you take. Ask the questions sincerely and answer them.
Many changes start happening when you do this regularly.
The movies you watch, the books you read, the friends you hang out with, the topics of conversation you bring up with the friends you hang out with – they all change.
And, very soon, you discover that your experience of life has changed.
For the better.
Try it.
Peace!
