We are tiptoeing into the new year, and I wish you the very best in every way.
May you be healthy and prosperous and bored out of your wits.
The last is not a mistake.
I, really and truly, wish that boredom enters your life in a big way and that you use it to progress on your spiritual journey.
My good friend David Gerken elaborates on the great gifts of boredom.
I would like to revisit an earlier blog where I say more on the same theme.
We rush around each day finishing stuff and getting things done and striking items off our to-do list. And, when we have a moment to spare, we turn to Netflix or some streaming platform for something to titillate us and keep us from having to deal with ourselves.
We are constantly hitting the tuning fork.
So, this year, slow down.
Deliberately plan it so you have some free time everyday.
Pause during your commute to look, really look, at the faces of your fellow commuters. Catch the eye of the barista who brings you coffee and smile at him. Chat up your Uber driver and find out what his dream is.
Just beam out the radiance that is in you. If you don’t have it, summon it by an act of will and then beam it out.
See how you feel. Make this a daily routine.
You will forget.
Just get back to it when you remember.
Peace!
